Eye Condition 1

The components of the human eye can be compared to those of a camera. The sclera can be likened to the outer casing of a camera. The cornea is the very front lens component while the adjustment of the internal lens provides the focusing. The pupil is the eye's aperture and the retina is the film. The optic nerve can be compared to a computer cable used to send the images taken to a computer. The computer in the eye's case is the brain.

The macula can be compared to the image sensor of a digital camera and it is the macula that provides detailed images and is what gives us our central vision. It is at the macula that all light passing through the eye should be focussed for optimal vision.
