say goodbye
to glasses
without surgery
Orthokeratology, also known as CRT (Corneal Refractive Therapy) uses the same principles as laser correction to reshape the cornea and improve vision. It is safe, and unlike laser correction, is completely reversible. To do this, a special instrument called a corneal topographer is used to take a 3D map of your corneas. The optometrist will then use your individual data to customise a special mould that will be used to correct your vision. This mould, similar to a hard contact lens, gently reshapes your corneas whilst you sleep. Upon waking, the mould is removed to provide clear vision through-out the day.
Myopia Control
Studies have shown that ortho-k can control the progression of myopia. So if your child’s short-sightedness is continually worsening ortho-k can slow the progression and in most cases stop the progression altogether. Studies have also linked increasing myopia to increased risk of developing eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts and retinal detachments. Therefore reducing your child’s myopia will have greater health benefits besides the visual benefits.
